Six-times world snooker champion Steve Davis will bring his DJ skills to Electrik’s One Deck social in June. Davis, known as DJ Thundermuscle, will cue up everything from electronica to metal for the stripped-down Chorlton night. He will joined by Kavus Torabi, guitarist for the Cardiacs and frontman of Knifeworld. Independent bar Electrik has previously chalked up guest appearances from Mr Scruff and punk legend Don Letts at the weekly Wednesday DJ nights, in which guests are challenged to use a single record deck – no mixing, no headphones, no turntablism. Although Steve is going to slightly break the rules – he may well pocket an extra CD deck. Get a sampler of their set with their Interesting Alternative show on Phoenix FM.
