Manchester’s Italian food experts Salvi’s will be taking over the Great Northern’s Community Kitchen on the Square across the Bank Holiday Weekend. Having already hosted tapas house Evuna, street food faves South Manny Flavours and cocktail pros Impossible – Salvi’s will be the latest restaurant to inherit this airy, outdoor Community Kitchen space which provides socially distanced food experiences in the heart of the city centre.

Bringing Southern Italian flavours to Deansgate, visitors will be able to tuck into hearty ragu or pesto Arancini (£7), crunchy croquettes with mortadella and pistachio (£6) or a range of pizza frittas with fillings like mozzarella and tomato and spicy n’duja sausage (£6 – £8). All of Salvi’s punchy flavours and carefully curated dishes are perfect for sharing and can be paired with a drinks menu that boasts summer tipples like Meloncello and Limoncello Spritz (£7.50), cool Negronis (£7.50) and host of wines (£4.50 glass/£18 bottle) and draft pints from kitchen sponsor Estrella Damm (£5).

Great Northern’s Community Kitchen on the Square is also presented by fellow sponsor United We Stream and aims to assist hospitality outlets and restaurants ease out of lockdown by hosting a different eatery in their outdoor pop-up each week. No booking is necessary – simply drop by and enjoy some restaurant quality grub in the Manchester sunshine. Salvi’s will be open from noon – 9pm, Friday 28 – Sunday 30 August.
