Castefield Gallery takes a leap into a post-apocalyptic future this month – with help from Volkov Commanders and a selection of some of Manchester’s finest artists and collectives. Taking inspiration from Margaret Atwood’s novel The Year of the Flood and its study of humanity’s survival after catastrophic events, the exhibition explores survivalist culture and creation mythology through storytelling, writing, gaming, performance and sculpture. Participating artists and organisations include Hackspace, Rowena Hughes, GameJam Collective and many more. Providing a special live performance for the preview night will be Volkov Commanders. Anyone who has seen a previous Volkov show will know this is not one to be missed. Or to be late for.
