We’re got a killer threesome leading the pack this week, with beer, history and chocolate all coming together for this weekend’s divine freebie trinity.
Blackjack Brewtap (pictured)
This one seems so obvious it almost hurts, as Blackjack Brewery opens its doors once again for their almighty brewtap bash. Along with 12 kegs and four casks rotating throughout the weekend, there’s also a lineup of live music and DJs, plus food curated by Grub, who plan to bring in the big dogs with Cafe Horchata, Banh mi Booth and Rudy’s Neapolitan Pizza around to quell booze-induced hungers. It’s a no brainer. Miss it, miss out. Etc.

University of Manchester Heritage Tour
Manchester University is home to some of the city’s most intriguing and inspiring legacies, shaping the modern world through science and industry to make Manchester what it is today. In a tour lasting around an hour, you’ll get to wander the campus whilst exploring the scientific advances that the university made, including how nuclear physics began with the splitting of the atom on campus and how the foundations for modern computing were established here.

Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival
With Easter just around the corner there’s surely no time more apt when it comes to celebrating the products of the glorious cacao seed. Back for its seventh year, Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival returns with its two-day chocolate market featuring over 50 stalls selling award-winning chocolate, churros, brownies cakes and more – also covering savoury ground with the likes of burgers, pizzas, wine and beer. With visitor numbers often well in excess of 30,000, the festival’s a good shout for all the family, with face painting, DJs, a bouncy castle and a mini chocolate factory on board to fill the gaps between the gluttony.
