There has been a major update about the city’s longest running music extravaganza. The Manchester Jazz Festival 2020 was officially cancelled earlier this month – but like many cultural organisations reacting to the COVID-19 crisis, it’s now taking place online. All of the musicians originally booked to perform have been paid in full and are now working on socially distanced concerts for you to enjoy from home. Along with these gigs, the four-day event will also feature exclusive artist interviews, behind the scenes footage and a retrospective of the quarter of a century that the Manchester Jazz Festival has been running. All the content will stream on the Festival’s social channels and those of its partners. These partners include Nordoff Robbins, a music therapy charity; and United We Stream, a brand-new service that helps to support the region’s night-time venues during the lockdown. The full Festival programme will be announced in the middle of the month. Please check the link below for listings and streaming details.
